Maui, Hawaii based model and actor, Emily, asked us to help her expand her portfolio for her agency using one of the red skirts from our studio collection. When she came to our studio to update her headshot, she saw the skirt and fell in love with it. She is a former gymnast and ballet dancer and loved the look of the red skirt on the beach with the wind and water in the background. The red color worked perfectly in contrast for her Maui beach portraits along with a blue water morning.

The Pondelik family joined us again on Maui for family portraits and this time they wore totally colorful Lily Pulitzer dresses which made my day. The colors looked amazing with the background and also fit the fun, perpetually positive, loving, laughing family to a tee. It's always wonderful to see the little ones growing up and meeting new family members (like their youngest daughter) who were born after our last session. What a joy it is to have such amazing clients who return to us year after year and ask us to capture their joy together in Maui beach portraits during their vacation. What a wonderful way to celebrate family. Welcome back Pondelik family!

One of my favorite sessions for the Class of 2020 was a future Film Director, Ashton Livingston.

Just look at his name! Can't you just see it on a marquee? This witty, aspiring Film Director from Oregon who received the Academic Excellence Award in Journalism is definitely going to be famous and I look forward to the day when I can say "I knew him when..." He was so cool during his senior portrait session and he even brought his own props! He absolutely loves movies and comic books and sci-fi and that will lead him to tell some very cool stories in his films. I am going to be first in line when his films debut. After graduating, he can look forward to an incredible successful career in the creative arts and entertainment industry. 

Ashton just found out a couple of days ago that his graduation ceremonies are canceled and he and his family were crushed to hear the news. I wanted to help celebrate him with a post about how AWESOME he is and how even though missing graduation may seem like a huge thing right now, in the big picture, he will still be graduating high school along with millions of other member of the Class of 2020 who are in the same boat.

We are all so proud of you then and now! We can't wait to see what you do!
