One of my favorite sessions for the Class of 2020 was a future Film Director, Ashton Livingston.

Just look at his name! Can't you just see it on a marquee? This witty, aspiring Film Director from Oregon who received the Academic Excellence Award in Journalism is definitely going to be famous and I look forward to the day when I can say "I knew him when..." He was so cool during his senior portrait session and he even brought his own props! He absolutely loves movies and comic books and sci-fi and that will lead him to tell some very cool stories in his films. I am going to be first in line when his films debut. After graduating, he can look forward to an incredible successful career in the creative arts and entertainment industry. 

Ashton just found out a couple of days ago that his graduation ceremonies are canceled and he and his family were crushed to hear the news. I wanted to help celebrate him with a post about how AWESOME he is and how even though missing graduation may seem like a huge thing right now, in the big picture, he will still be graduating high school along with millions of other member of the Class of 2020 who are in the same boat.

We are all so proud of you then and now! We can't wait to see what you do!

One of the coolest wedding couples we had as clients! Music brought them together and they still groove at music festivals! Olowalu Plantation House is a gorgeous venue too! Right now with the uncertainty we have with the coronavirus circulating globally, it has taught me how much more I value family, friendships and our awesome clients who have supported our small business over a dozen years on Maui. Mahalo to everyone who has called, texted and emailed us to ask how we are doing. We are all in this together and we will all come out a bit more creative and more resilient than ever. Hold your loved ones tightly and tell them how much you appreciate them. We will continue to broadcast from this blog station as long as we have photographs, which means a very long time! We look forward to what the future holds for all of us.

We had another fun round of "Friday Night Lights" themed sports portraits at Kamehameha Schools Maui campus with their athletes.

This time I photographed them without the stadium lights on and gorgeous sunset behind them. We received permission from the school and coaches to photograph two cross country runners who are stars this year.  

I was using my new Flashpoint lighting system and working on high speed sync to develop my skills for my Master of Photography Degree.

Cy was our first model runner and he is one of the calmest, kindest, humble and genuine people I have ever met. It was such a pleasure to not only meet him, but to meet his fun sister, Tehane, who came to the school to watch and help with the session. She was a bundle of joy to have along and such a giggler. We had a great time practicing with the new lights and here are some of the results. i hope you like them!
