MAUI BUSINESS HEADSHOTS WITH TRACIE

Tracie was a kick in the pants to have in the studio. She is a PR professional on Maui who needed to update her professional business headshots for marketing. She was looking for a couple of looks in a couple of different colors for her professional headshots. She wanted to look polished in both headshots and have a little more of a casual feel to one of them.

We did her business headshot session at our full service Pukalani portrait studio and she was able to change outfits easily and then see what each style looked like on our laptops since we photographed her tethered to the computer. She chose her favorite headshots on site and they went right off to our rock star retouchers.

She had her new headshots in 48 hours. Boom! Mic drop!

Flashpoint Lighting Portraits with Olivia

We are so exciting to be working with a new Flashpoint lighting system for our clients. We have a lot more options for lighting and can accommodate more requests for complex lighting situations in sessions for our studio clients and commercial clients.

I asked our senior portrait client, Olivia, to help me yesterday to do a test of the lights. We were granted permission to photograph on private property at the Hui No'eau Visual Arts Center where I am a Teaching Artist as well as from the Friends of Old Maui High School. This allowed us a couple of different light situations and backgrounds to be able to test the limits of the lights. Needless to say, I am delighted with the new lighting system and look forward to sharing our new system with our clients!

Join us for a session: It's not just a photo shoot, it's an experience.

MAUI SPORTS PORTRAITS WITH CY

We had another fun round of "Friday Night Lights" themed sports portraits at Kamehameha Schools Maui campus with their athletes.

This time I photographed them without the stadium lights on and gorgeous sunset behind them. We received permission from the school and coaches to photograph two cross country runners who are stars this year.

I was using my new Flashpoint lighting system and working on high speed sync to develop my skills for my Master of Photography Degree.

Cy was our first model runner and he is one of the calmest, kindest, humble and genuine people I have ever met. It was such a pleasure to not only meet him, but to meet his fun sister, Tehane, who came to the school to watch and help with the session. She was a bundle of joy to have along and such a giggler. We had a great time practicing with the new lights and here are some of the results. i hope you like them!

Mahalo to athletic trainer, Erin Harkleroad, for inviting me to do this and Kamehameha Schools Maui for granting me permission to photograph on their campus and allowing me to work on my Master of Photography Degree.

ICONIC MAUI FAMILY PORTRAIT WITH THE HALES

Creating an iconic Maui family portrait for the Hale Family

Sometimes you just know when you have made an iconic portrait. This time it was with the Hale Family who stayed in a luxury oceanfront home in Kihei with Private Paradise Villas. The pool at the home served as my mirror and the dusky sunset framed in palm trees was my backdrop. This type of silhouette happens when everything comes together at the right time with the right clients.
Mahalo to the Hale Family for allowing me to make that one last portrait of their family before their children start to go to college.

Join us for a family portrait session on Maui! It's not just a photo shoot, it's an experience.
