Creating Samurai Ed for Anytime Fitness Pukalani

Congratulations to Anytime Fitness Pukalani's newest Milestone Member, Ed Romson.

I've been a member of Anytime Fitness Pukalani since I opened my Maui photography studio 5 years ago. Along the way during my workouts, I met Ed Romson on the treadmill. He is a true Success Story and was selected by the staff of Anytime Fitness Pukalani as their newest Milestone Member which includes a custom photo session on Maui with me and a poster in the gym featuring their favorite portrait from their photography session as well as their success story.

Ed grew up on Maui in a house located right on the ocean (lucky guy!) and had successful career setting up and managing call centers that took him all over the world. One of those locations was Japan. Ed was particularly drawn to the Japanese culture and one of the elements he was fascinated by was the samurai culture. When I saw he had a passion for this, I knew we had to incorporate a samurai portrait of him. So we grabbed one of his swords and went outside to create some portraits of him with the sword as a prop. According to the interwebs, "The samurai is a well-trained, highly skilled warrior. In fact, the word samurai means, "those who serve." This fits Ed perfectly since he was in charge of setting up customer service call centers all over the world and he is tirelessly committed to his workouts to meet his fitness goals. His favorite portrait was the one we created which showed his two sides - serious and mischievous. He always, (I mean always) has a smile on his face.

Please join me in sending congratulations to Ed Romson for achieving his fitness goals and representing the Anytime Fitness Pukalani gym community for all of us!

This handsome pit bull came into our Maui portrait studio to celebrate his new life with his forever home.

He was found next to the road on Maui starving and badly gored by a wild pig with an infection that almost killed him. At the time he was found by his adopted family, he was scared of just about everything. They took him to the vet right away to start the healing process and through lots of patience, love and kindness, they coaxed him back to physical health. He still bears a physical scar on his shoulder but he is a star student in both obedience and agility training at Sit Means Sit. We celebrated his session with a traditional wild boar's tusk adornment and floral lei featuring native Hawaiian plants including palapalai ferns and a'ali'i from Haawina Farms and his favorite dog auntie's yard. He is one sweet, happy, healthy and lucky dog.

He was gifted a Sandy Paws session by one of his owner’s friends who believes in second chances.
