Breanna wanted to create a portrait with her beautiful Friesian horse and we were absolutely delighted to help. We spent some time talking in the studio about the overall concept and wardrobe for the session. While Dacia Waller from our Glam Squad got Breanna camera ready for her luxury portrait with her horse, she was able to relax in our studio with a beverage in her hand listening to her favorite music.
I grew up riding horses and competing both in Under Saddle and Hunter Jumper shows in the South and Midwest. When I was about to turn 16 years old my parents started asking if I would rather have a horse or a used car. What kind of question is that for a 16 year old? So not fair! Well, with that polarizing option, I chose a car. I don’t regret the decision but I love being in the equestrian helm and working with horses. I am incredibly comfortable and happy working around and with horses. Making portraits of the horses and their riders and owners is such a joy.

OK as you can probably tell, we had a blast making portraits of French Bulldog Mother & Daughter duo, Makena and Wailea. They clearly enjoyed their Sandy Paws Studio Session. Makena is more refined as the mother and her daughter, Wailea, is a total ham in front of the camera. We can’t wait to make more portraits of these two!

Justine was originally supposed to be part of our Dimples Project and when she could’t make the project session dates she booked an in studio luxury portrait for herself. She is celebrating a few things in her life right now and just looks gorgeous! She’s a kick to have in the studio as well since she has the most infectious smile and laughter. Our Glam Squad, Jessica Bailey and Dacia Waller, indulged her in our professional hair and makeup services to get her camera ready while she relaxed in our studio with a beverage.

On Location Portraits of Kaanapali Beach Hotel Chefs by Maui Photographer Aubrey Hord a Certified Professional Photographer and Photographic Craftsman specializing in portraiture based in Hawaii.

Kaanapali Beach Hotel hired us to create on-location portraits of their chef team for press releases and chef events. They wanted to ensure the chef portraits looked authentic with a natural/outdoor background that gives them a sense of place working in Hawaii.

Our makeup artist, Monica Valencia, got the chefs camera ready and then we were off in search of some beautiful backgrounds on the property.

Even in midday light and heat, we were able to make nice clean professional portraits for Chef Tom and Chef Chris. Mahalo gentleman for letting us make some on location portraits of you!
