We like to set our clients up for success for their professional headshots and we've come up with some quick solutions for the most common mistakes we've seen. Our clients are much happier with their headshots and with their outfits if they are not fussing with them or trying to hide tags or bra straps during their session. We take the time to talk with each of our awesome clients prior to their session to find out what they would love us to create for them for their professional headshots or business portraits and find out how we can help them look their best. 

10 Mistakes to Avoid (Most common things we see)

1. Wayward bra straps that like to show up in the photographs

(Solution: Try a strapless bra).

2. Food in teeth

(Solution: Brush your teeth before your shoot.

3. Stains on Clothing

(Solution: Clothing should be steamed and cleaned before shoot and brought to your session on hangers).

4. White deodorant marks on clothing

(Solution: Wear clear deodorant.)

5. Ripped, Worn or Over-Ironed clothing

(Solution: Don't wear or be prepared to pay for additional retouching).

6. Visible Clothing Tags

(Solution: Remove tags before the shoot if they show through fabric).

7. Colorful Bras that show through clothing

(Solution: Nude colors or black are best under clothes).

8. Half plucked eyebrows

(Solution: Get a professional brow wax about week prior to the session).

9. Razor Burn

(Solution: Go easy on the razor or try an electric one. Salt water can irritate skin so avoid the ocean a day or two prior.)

10. Reflections on Eyeglasses

(Solution: Have an antiglare/antireflection coating put on your glasses)

We love it when men come into our Maui photography studio for their professional business headshots. In our experience, it's not always something they want to do. So, we make it fast, easy and convenient for them. Bring in an Aloha shirt and lei, jacket and tie, lab coat or whatever your work attire is and we can get you all set within a few minutes. 
We photograph our headshots tethered to a laptop so clients can see their headshots right away and select their favorite before they leave. We capture about 15-20 photographs so our clients to choose their favorites. Once our clients select their favorite headshots from their photography experience with us, their headshots go off to our talented team of retouchers to take care of the little details and to polish them up for delivery.

We also recommend all of our clients do their headshots in the morning while they are fresh and before they get too caught up in their day. Headshots are available in our Pukalani Maui studio between 8am-1pm Monday through Friday.
