Aubrey Hord Photography is proud to be a Business Member of 1% for the Planet and make it a priority to seek out like minded vendors. Our professional lab has received the Green Business Award multiple years in a row and I wanted to share just a little about what they do to earn the award.
How Do We Achieve The Green Business Award?
Our Efforts To Reduce Resource Use And Pollution Generation
Here are some of our regular operations and procedures our professional lab does in maintaining sustainable business practices:
- We purchase renewable energy credits to offset the CO2 emissions from your business' use of electricity and natural gas. These credits are used to help fund renewable energy projects globally.
- We use copy paper that is produced from 100% recycled material.
- We encourage employee bicycle usage by offering covered and uncovered bicycle storage. We also keep bicycle tools on hand in our HR department in case of any bike repairs needed.
- We use electronic pre-press and imaging systems to reduce developers and film or plating materials.
- We regularly check for and repair all building and plumbing leaks.
- We retrofit our lights and other equipment to conserve energy.
- To maximize recycling and composting, we have placed clearly labeled recycling bins next to all applicable trash bins. We recycle all paper and plastic waste through our County's recycle program.
- We work with a hazardous waste contractor to haul used Press Printed ink cartridges. Other ink cartridges are either returned to the manufacturer or recycled through our County's recycle program.
- We recover silver from our photographic materials and send it to the refiner.
We want to leave this earth a better place than we found it and do our best to pass that along through the supply chain. Mahalo to our professional lab for doing all they can to take care of the planet. We are honored to work with fabulous vendors like this.
